Discover the Natural Wonder of Ngorongoro
Nestled within Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the world’s most remarkable natural attractions. Known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” Ngorongoro Crater offers a unique safari experience where visitors can encounter incredible wildlife within the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. At Jambo African Tours and Safari, we’re excited to guide you through this UNESCO World Heritage Site and share the wonders of its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife.
The Ngorongoro Crater Experience
The Ngorongoro Crater spans nearly 260 square kilometers and is home to around 25,000 large animals, making it one of the best places to witness Africa’s “Big Five”: lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and leopards. As you descend into the crater, the lush grasslands, acacia forests, and shimmering lakes create the perfect backdrop for a game drive filled with unforgettable encounters.

Wildlife Highlights
Spot endangered black rhinos, large prides of lions, grazing zebras, playful hippos, and colorful flamingos around Lake Magadi.

Spectacular Views
Take in breathtaking panoramic views from the crater rim before descending into the crater for an up-close experience.
Best Time to Visit Ngorongoro
The Ngorongoro Crater offers excellent game viewing year-round. However, the best time to visit is during the dry season, from June to October, when animals gather around water sources, making it easier to spot diverse wildlife. The rainy season, from November to May, offers lush landscapes and abundant birdlife, making it ideal for bird enthusiasts and photographers.
